Scholarship Funding

In 1980 the Doane Family Foundation was created with Doane College to support Doane Scholars and other worthy projects. Annual scholarships are awarded primarily to Doane College students, however some have also been awarded to family members of our Association who attend other schools across the United States. In addition, some scholarships have been awarded to colleges and schools where we have held our biennial reunions.
Recently the Doane Family Foundation made scholarship awards to six students  for the 2007-2008 school year.
In 2008 the Doane Family Association voted to create a second scholarship fund: Doane Family Scholarship Fund.  These funds are available to non-Doane College students/enrollees  and also to our Canadian members. For more information please contact info@doanefamilyassociation.org

DNA Project

DNA Committee Report
The DNA project committee is still working to find an an ancestor of Deacon John Doane (Done) in England. We are getting about a 10% response to the requests sent out. We will keep trying. We are getting some matches for those in the USA and Canada who want to confirm their connection to the Doan(e) line. That information was also slow at first but is now starting to increase. Anyone wanting to participate in this project should go to FamilyTreeDNA and read what can be done; they have a very good set of instructions available at their web site.
